MA Textile Design graduate from Chelsea College of Art and Design, Nickey Herbert found an internship at GDR Creative Intelligence via jotta. Within a couple of months GDR offered Nicky a full time job as Innovation Researcher. A nice success story, we talk to Nicky about her role at GDR and her advice for interns hoping to find a full-time position with their placement hosts.
How and when did you get an internship with GDR Creative Intelligence?
I searched the jotta website the summer after I graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design, UAL (MA Textile Design 2008). At the time I was researching for various companies on a freelance basis, whilst also undertaking some textile work. When I read about the internship at GDR I felt that this would be a fantastic experience as it offered an interesting mix of brand and design agency research. I started the internship in August 2009.
